Movement Day Africa unites and equips Christian leaders to work together for the spiritual,
social and generational flourishing of cities across the continent.

Demographics
Africa’s population is expected to grow from 1.5 billion to 2.5 billion by 2050. At that time, Africans will constitute 25% of the world’s population and more than 40% of the global youth population.
More than half (53.6%) of the urban population in Sub-Saharan Africa lives in slums or informal settlements, representing about 265 million people.
Africa holds 60% of global arable land and 30% of global critical mineral reserves, including 19% of those needed for electric vehicles. 60% of Africa’s GDP is generated in cities.
118 million children, adolescents and youth across Africa are out of school, highlighting the educational challenges facing the continent’s next generation.

2025 Accra Outreach
In Accra, Ghana, 20 of our Scholar graduates, in partnership with 25 mission organizations, anchored by African Enterprise, mobilized 1,000 leaders to reach 133,000 people in ten days. There were 6,500 confessions of faith.
Book Release
The release of the book, Why African Cities: Aligning for the Future. With contributions from 25 authors from eight nations, Why African Cities, available in English, French and Portuguese, seeks to inspire united collaborative initiatives in response to demographic shifts.
Investing in Gospel Movements
Movement Day Africa seeded $500 into 11 Movement Day expressions in 2025, engaging 21 cities with 550 leaders and 220 organizations. These cities represent 75 million people.
